On Tuesday, October 23, the visual text editor on all Department Web Framework sites will be upgraded to TinyMCE 4. The editing toolbar will have a new look, so editors may have to look twice to find the button they want. This upgrade will improve the overall usability of the editing tools.

A few weeks ago, the Arts & Sciences web team announced that we would be integrating department websites with the Canvas Learning Management System so that the Canvas Syllabus Descriptions would show on the websites' course detail pages. This feature went live today, so users will notice the longer descriptions being included on those pages when they are available. The old custom description still appears as "Additional Details."

The theme that defines the appearance of the department websites has been rewritten as a responsive design. This means that the design adjusts according to the width of the screen that the person is using, so the site offers optimal readability on everything from smart phones to tablets to desktop monitors. We were mobile-friendly before, but now we're even mobile-friendlier! All department sites moving forward will feature responsive designs.
